About Horitomo
Horitomo, born Kazuaki Kitamura, is a tattoo artist at State of Grace Tattoo in San Jose, California, where he specializes in traditional Japanese tattooing including tebori, the hand-poked technique. He is the creator of the Monmon Cats series, in which cats appear in classical Japanese tattoo motifs, and has authored the books 'Monmon Cats' and 'Immovable.' He has exhibited work at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, and previously did design work for Sega.
