Tattoo Glossary — P
Peeling
A normal part of the tattoo healing process, typically occurring 5-14 days after getting tattooed. The top layer of damaged skin flakes away to reveal the healed tattoo beneath.
In detail
Peeling looks like light flaking or dry skin and is entirely normal. Never pick or scratch — this can pull ink out and cause patchy healing. Keep the area moisturised and let the flakes fall naturally.
