TatScout's findings

Puerto Ink's 3,219 five-star reviews aren't a fluke-this Antwerp studio has cracked the formula of consistent quality and genuine client care since 2018. The fact that they accept walk-ins without sacrificing their reputation (most busy studios don't) signals confidence in their work and scheduling. Their tight focus on Japanese, Blackwork, and Tribal means you're not walking into a generalist shop; these are styles that reward depth of knowledge. Strong fit for anyone committed to one of those aesthetics; less so if you're after fine-line portraiture or colour realism.

Over de studio

Puerto Ink sits in Antwerp's tattoo scene as a studio that has built genuine credibility since 2018. The neighbourhood draws a mix of clients-locals seeking meaningful work and visitors drawn by word-of-mouth reputation-and the studio's welcoming approach means walk-ins are accepted alongside booked appointments, making it accessible whether you've planned ahead or decided on impulse.

The studio specialises in Japanese, Blackwork, and Tribal styles, each demanding precision and a deep understanding of line weight, composition, and cultural context. If you're after intricate Japanese imagery-think waves, dragons, or traditional motifs-or bold blackwork pieces, Puerto Ink's focus on these disciplines suggests you'll find artists who know the fundamentals inside out. Tribal work, too, requires confident hand and eye; the studio's reputation indicates this isn't handled as an afterthought.

First-timers should know that consultations are part of the process here; come prepared to discuss your vision, placement, and size so the artist can advise on what will work best in their chosen styles. Like most Belgian studios, English is widely spoken, and the transit links in Antwerp are good if you're coming from outside the city. The studio handles both tattoos and piercings, so if you're considering either or both, you can sort them under one roof.

With over 3,200 five-star reviews, Puerto Ink is one of Antwerp's most trusted tattoo destinations, and its longevity and specialisation make it a logical choice if you want Japanese, Blackwork, or Tribal work executed with real authority.

One of the most beautiful tattoos I have was done by Angie at Puerto Ink. There’s always a nice atmosphere, the artists are helpful and chatty, and the interior is amazing too!

I went to this studio today to have a piercing removed because I couldn’t manage to do it myself. It turned out to be much more complicated than expected, but Gianni was incredibly patient and professional. The entire team was kind, supportive, and made me feel very comfortable. I especially appreciated their understanding, as I needed to remove the piercing before a surgery scheduled for tomorrow. To my surprise, they didn’t even charge me for the service. I’m truly grateful for their generosity and care. I highly recommend this studio, not only for their professionalism, but also for their kindness. Thank you so much again! Gianni is the best🤪

I’m writing this review because I was genuinely disappointed with how a recent issue was handled. I’ve been a loyal customer and have spent a significant amount at this studio, which is why this experience was surprising. A white gold daith jewelry piece fell out, which should not normally happen. This happened about two weeks after the piece had been switched in, so it was still very new. Because I don’t live nearby and the piercing was still quite new, I went to a professional piercer in my immediate area to have it checked and temporarily reinserted, as I was concerned the hole might close and I obviously can’t reinsert it myself. I brought both the new piece that had fallen out and an older piece of jewelry I had previously bought at this studio, so they could compare them. They immediately noticed that the new piece didn’t feel secure, explained that a daith should not be able to just fall out, and showed me the difference compared to the older piece. They also refused to reinsert the new one because they were concerned I could lose it outside, which would have meant losing a €400 piece. Instead, they reinserted the older piece, which they agreed was a good and secure one. I contacted the studio straight away and explained the situation. As travelling there requires significant time, I also asked in advance whether a replacement would be available if needed, so I wouldn’t make the trip for nothing. When I came in, instead of feeling supported, I ended up in a long discussion where my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. I was shown multiple times that “it closes”, told that all pieces were the same, and the other piercer’s opinion was brushed off. I was also given conflicting explanations, such as being told it probably came out due to pressure or friction, while later being told that this piercing shouldn’t really be able to be taken out on its own. This went on for about 30 minutes and felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. Eventually the piece was replaced, but the whole interaction felt defensive rather than solution-oriented. What I missed most was simple acknowledgement and reassurance, for a €400 piece that had already fallen out so quickly, I expected understanding of the risk and a smoother resolution. I’ve always trusted this studio, which is why this experience was disappointing. The technical issue itself could happen anywhere, but the way it was handled made me feel unheard and uncomfortable as a customer.

I had my helix and daith done together. The procedure was so smooth i thought i only had one piercing done while i actually had them both done. Anto did it very wel and made me feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend puerto ink.

This was my first time getting a tattoo, and Puerto Ink made it a great experience. The place is very clean and professional, and my tattoo artist, Emily, was just amazing. She designed my fineline tattoo and was very helpful and patient while we figured out the placement. She explained everything that was going to happen so I felt very at ease. I love my tattoo! Definitely coming back here.
