About Xoïl (Loïc Lavenu)
Loïc Lavenu, known as Xoïl, is a self-taught French tattoo artist who became internationally recognized for inventing a 'photoshop' style of graphic tattooing in the early 2000s. He runs Needles Side Tattoo in Thonon-les-Bains, on Lake Geneva, and is praised by international press for the fineness of his line work and his unique collage compositions. The professional name 'Xoïl' originated as a typo of 'Loïc' on an early invoice. He has been featured in BuzzFeed's lists of the world's coolest tattoo artists.
