Very good
Based on rating, reviews, styles and availability
Swim Low's 4.9-star average across 255 reviews is the kind of rating that speaks to reliability rather than hype-this is a studio clients return to, not one that polarises opinion. Established in 2013, it has weathered the industry long enough to refine its craft, and its specialisation in fine line and minimalist work is a deliberate choice, not a limitation. The studio takes walk-ins, which is refreshing in a city where booking ahead is often the default. This is a smart choice if you want precise, delicate work that will hold its detail over time, and you value a studio with a proven, quiet track record. Skip it if you're after bold colour or experimental styles.
About the studio
Swim Low Tattoo has been operating in Buenos Aires since 2013, building a solid reputation over more than a decade of consistent work. The studio has become a fixture in the local tattoo scene, attracting clients who value precision and restraint over bold statements. Based on its portfolio focus, Swim Low specialises in fine line and minimalist work-the kind of intricate, delicate designs that demand steady hands and meticulous attention to detail. If you're drawn to understated pieces that age well and read clearly from a distance, this is the aesthetic the studio knows inside out.
Buenos Aires has a vibrant tattoo culture, and Swim Low sits comfortably within it, serving both locals and travellers passing through the city. The studio's 4.9-star rating across 255 reviews suggests a track record of clients leaving satisfied, though this speaks as much to consistency and professionalism as it does to artistic innovation. The neighbourhood itself, Buenos Aires proper, offers easy access and a creative energy that supports the work being done.
First-time clients should know that Swim Low welcomes walk-ins, making it accessible if you're in the area and inspired. As with most professional studios in Argentina, Spanish is the primary language, though the straightforward nature of fine line work often transcends detailed conversation. A consultation is advisable for anything bespoke, and the studio will likely discuss placement, sizing, and longevity-factors that matter enormously when working at a smaller scale. Swim Low represents a mature, professional operation within Buenos Aires' tattoo landscape, one where simplicity and skill converge.

5 star +! Got tattooed by Jon, and he did an amazing job. He took the time to go through the whole design with real passion, offering suggestions while making sure I was 100% happy with it. A real pleasure to be tattooed by such a talented artist and, honestly, a great guy. Bonus: Swim Low is such a beautiful, clean, and stylish tattoo space. Highly recommended!

Awesome tattoo place I went to a month ago! My artist spoke English, which was very nice, and was great on details. She and I had a very pleasant conversation. My tattoo has healed well, with very little required care in the aftermath. The image with the croc on is a month after I had it done. Would recommend if you are in Buenos Aires and are interested in getting a tattoo.

Amazing work! Valentina took so much time for the design and turned out better than I could have ever imagined. She speaks perfect English as well, in case your Spanish tattoo describing skills are still lacking a bit :) Muchas gracias! Me encanta el tatuaje!

Would recommend 100%! Cosy place and great vibe! Valentina was my tattoo artist. Despite the fact I wanted a little tattoo, she was very considerate, taking her time and giving me the time to decide place and size. Felt really comfortable, awesome service!
