How to Build a Tattoo Studio: The Full Equipment List
TatScout Editorial · 2026-06-30 · 14 min

Everything a three-chair studio needs on opening day, from chairs and lighting to the hygiene stock an inspector will ask about.
Start with the room
Chairs, lighting and workstations define your capacity and they are the hardest things to change later. Budget roughly 55% of your opening equipment spend here and buy service-supported brands.
Hygiene is not optional
Barrier film, gloves, disinfectant and green soap should be ordered as a recurring delivery from day one. Running out mid-week is how studios end up buying at retail prices.
Leave room for the artists
Machines and ink are personal. Equip the room, then let each artist configure their own station and reorder against a shared supply list.
